This is one of the ways I rest, relax and just get back to myself. Who else loves tea? What's your fave kind? I especially love mint green tea or anything with lemongrass! Regular black tea is also at the top of my list. Don't you love my adorable unicorn mug! I bet you have a fave mug too. Those adorable PEI fox mugs at PEI Fox Den https://peifoxden.ca/ are totally on my wish list!
Knowing what activities bring you back to yourself is important to taking care of yourself that contribute to stress management and overall mental health.
May 4th-10th is declared as Mental Health awareness week with the Canadian Mental Health Association. It's always mental health week for me, it's a priority. I know I need to keep it at the top of my list to ensure my overall well-being to be the best I can be. Taking time out like a tea break is part of that mental health plan. What's part of your plan?
Mental health for me is a mix of taming my inner critic, actively working on stress reduction, applying my wise coping mechanisms, building my body image confidence and self-esteem, working with a therapist, and taking my medications. Other important elements are keeping my sleep and rest a priority, eating nourishing foods, staying hydrated, and a large component is my exercise routine. I wrote about this in Optimyz magazine, read here how I use movement to help me with my mental health and to overcome trauma: https://www.optimyz.com/how-excercise-can-help-to-overcome-the-trauma-of-sexual-abuse/
May has many important awareness topics, these are just a few:
