Some say, “We’re all the same boat”.
I’d like to think we’re actually all in the same uncharted waters but we are in our own unique boats.
During this pandemic, we are rowing in these waters together the best way we know how.
Some of us are not rowing at all, paralyzed in fear.
Some of us are rowing in a frenzy, scrambling to adapt.
Some are panicked, flipped over, clawing to get back in the boat now soaking wet.
Some can’t find their paddles.
Some have their life jackets on tight, paddles in hand and ready for what’s next.
We are all just doing our best to stay afloat or tread water and in time get to the other side to make it shore. We know that there is the “other side” to this pandemic and therein lies the calmer shores where we can further ground ourselves and start to rebuild.
In the meantime, let’s do our best to take care of ourselves and each other knowing we still have some rowing to do. If you are willing and able, please offer help or assistance of any kind to your neighbors, peers, friends, family, community members, acquaintances, and strangers.
Because we are stronger through this experience together.
